Welcome to Perlexoticat!
Who am I? My name is Karine, I was born in Montreal, Canada and we move down in Florida in 1999. My work has always been surrounded by animals, and since I was a kid, my passion was and is still everything related with fur & feather. Forever, I dreamed about "Exotic" and that dream (thanks to Alena President Cattery,Toronto) finally became a reality in August 2006 were my first black smoke/white Exotic became part of our family. Later on, more Exotics were introduced to my family. My cattery has been registered with CFA since 2007. I also want to thanks Cathy from Bravlion for all her help with my first cat show that Beethoven and I attended in February 2008.
Perlexoticat is a small cattery located in Southwest Florida. Our cats are members of our family and our kittens are well socialised, affectionate and healthy. All our new cats are FELV tested at their arrival. They are also PKD tested (UOC Davis) , or out of my negative tested parents. Perlexoticat's goal is to breed CFA standard show quality & healthy , happy kittens.
My Exotics have brought us so much love and joy and I am glad to be able to share my passion with other passionate "cat lover". Since our kitties are part of our family, I reserve the right to refuse anyone without any explanation.
Kittens are sold with a Florida Health Certificate and CFA registered. Pet quality kittens must be spayed/neutered before 8 months. CFA papers will be hold until proof has been received. Kittens will visit the vet twice and will have all their shots needed before they are ready to move to their new homes. (12+ weeks)
*** Rabies is given at the age of 4 months.
What is it like living with an Exotic ? They have a quiet, endearing nature. The Exotic is an ideal breed that produces a quiet, sweet, peaceful and loyal companion. They are easy going and not much seems to disturb them. In general, they are extremely affectionate. An Exotic is very comfortable to have in your home and they like to be nearby all the time, but respect your privacy.They are lazy, but they stay playful as adults for many years.They are not destructive and they are too lazy to climb curtains.The Exotic coat is unique to the breed; thick, dense, plush, and short.For busy people who like the look of a Persian but don't have time for the daily grooming demands, Exotics are # 1. All things considered, the Exotic is a wonderful addition to any family.
Exotic Ancestors: American Shorthairs x Persians = Exotics. In 1966, CFA board of directors decided to establish a legitimate place for them. Because the Exotic is a hybrid breed, some kittens are born with long hair called Exotic longhair.
